Pho 14 Opening Very Soon
Reported by JustinI was walking home with dinner from Pollo Sabroso and I noticed a family inside the soon to open Pho 14 on Park Rd, which is between Pollo Sabroso and Simply Soles. I tapped on the door and it turns out it was the owners. I spoke with Tim, who said they are hoping to open in 7-10 days if the final inspection goes well, which they worked on all day. They are so awesome, and even invited me to come in and take pictures for the blog! Unfortunately I only had my iPhone. Finally being on the inside I can say that it’s a very intimate and warm space. Hopefully I can get some better pictures soon. More after the jump…

Any word on whether they’ll have banh mi? The commenters on Prince of Petworth seem to think they will. Man, do I want banh mi.

How authentic does this place appear to be? There are two other places in DC for Pho, but neither one is particularly good (My Vietnamese boyfriend was extremely disappointed by the Pho place on P street near Dupont).

Sean:
To be honest, I don’t know enough about Vietnamese food to be a critic, but I can state that this is a true family operation.

Unfortunately, as stoppedby mentioned, Pho 14 didn’t pass final inspection. Hopefully it will be open in the next few weeks.

Hey Justin and gang,
It’s Tim here, I told you I was going to check your site out. Thanks for the update. I’m in Chicago but heard the family restaurant is streaming with guests already and Pho 14 isn’t officially open until tomorrow 03/03/09. But with such high expectations the family decided to open doors so feel free to stop by. My suggestion is be prepare to wait (just talking on the phone I heard the line was long extending out on the streets). Come early!
-Regards, Tim H.
