By 9pm hundreds of people braved the chilly October night to line up outside of Masa14 for a chance to meet the photo blogger legend Scott Schuman a.k.a. The Sartorialist. Masa14, the recently opened Latin-Asian fusion restaurant in the U Street Corridor played host to Fashion Washington‘s first anniversary party on last night. The party brought out stylish Washingtonians from all walks of life; an ecectic mix of FW fans, local residents, fashionistas and Washington insiders.

Around 200 were invited to the official FW party. Event goers recieved a private signing by Mr. Schuman of his new book named for his blog, complimentary cocktails and a rare chance to mingle in style. Brother and sister environmental duo Alexandra and Philippe Cousteau were special guests, named fashionable Washingtonians by FW magazine.

More photos after the jump.

At 9pm the public signing commenced and Masa14 was flooded by fans of The Sartorialist. The party kept going until just before 1am; pretty good for a Monday evening. Schuman himself was surprised by the turnout, writing on his blog this morning:

“Thanks to everyone in DC for the great turnout last night! I expected great things in cities like London and Paris, but DC was a total surprise…
…Thanks again guys and yes, I will be back in DC soon!”

Pat yourselves on the back Washington, job well done.
