DDOT Completes 15th Street Cycletrack
Reported by JustinI was riding today and noticed that DDOT has finished the cycletrack on 15th Street. This includes bollards, bright enough that even the worst driver couldn’t miss them. There are even bollards in the middle of the lanes near entrances, so there will be NO MORE DOUBLE PARKING! They have also painted the “sharrows” on the right northbound lane.
Bravo, DDOT!

Is there a reason to use different bike icons in the north and south direction? Or is part of the general DC signage randomness?

I have no idea why the icons are different, but I guess that’s just what they have set for shared lane vs. cycletrack…

Questions…
Will the city still be responsible for cleaning 15th Street NW? Is there enough room for the big sweepers?
Next Question…Has the DDOT thought about this reconfiguration when it comes to snow removal and parking regulations?
