Streetfront: Ping Pong Dim Sum DC
Reported by AlliciaAs reported in October, Ping Pong Dim Sum, will be opening a location in the District this winter. Last week, a Ping Pong DC Twitter and Facebook page appeared on the internet, which indicated that the grand opening is forthcoming. I have not been able to find an official grand opening date, however, they’re Facebook page states that they’ll be opening next month:
“Welcome to Ping Pong, the Twenty-First Century Tea House. Our first location in the United States will be in the Nation’s capitol, Washington, D.C. Come to our grand opening in December 2009!”
And just like their neighbors across the street at Nando’s Peri Peri, Ping Pong Dim Sum choose the District of Columbia as the first U.S. location. Also, the soon to be opened UK based noodle company, Wagamama, has also looked upon DC as the second U.S. invasion following Boston, MA. They’ll be located at 418 7th street, NW.
It’s quite an honor to have all these wonderful restaurants inhabiting the U.S. and setting their sights on our city to break into the North American market. Food Critics may not recognize DC as a “foodie” city but I suspect that this notion will change in the future.

I love the fact that all of the restaurants that I frequented when I lived in London are all on one street. WIN!
