Cheap Art Sale! @ La Casa

On Saturday, December 5th the Cheap Art Sale will host local artists from across the city who will show and sell original works of art, donating half or more of all proceeds to the nonprofit Neighbors’ Consejo (www.neighborsconsejo.org). All art will be priced at $100 or less. The Cheap Art Sale is an opportunity for shoppers to purchase unique holiday gifts and one-of-a-kind items. Participating artists include Leslie Andrus, Lely Constantinople, Mike Ferguson, Henry Gallucio, Sha Grogan-Brown, Kikapika Designs, Tom Legro, Vrinda Manglik, Vida Russell, Arelle Wood and others. Works of art include photography, prints, screen printed clothing, jewelry, paintings, etc.
Neighbors’ Consejo is a local nonprofit organization that provides bilingual and multicultural services to the homeless, addicted and low-income residents of the Mt Pleasant, Columbia Heights and Adams Morgan neighborhoods of DC. Their programs include street outreach, counseling and case management, vocational services, addiction treatment, and an advocacy program that promotes civic engagement and develops leadership skills. After 15 years of providing much-needed services, their funds have been drastically cut. Please help them reach their goal of raising $200,000 by the end of the year by purchasing art at the Cheap Art Sale. We will also be taking donations for Neighbors’ Consejo at the art sale, if you would like to donate without buying something.
