ReadysetDC Previews: The Passenger

Last night we had the privilege to preview The Passenger, the new bar opening tonight at 5pm in the Warehouse Theater space on 7th. It is a great space that is familiar if you’ve been in the space in the past, like at Orr Shtuhl’s Spice event. The concept space that lives up to the name, the rear lounge that resembles a train car dining room, is still under constuction. That space will not be open tonight, however I spoke with Tom Brown (half of the Brown brother team) and he said that they are hoping to have that space ready by the weekend.

Recommendation: Kimchi hotdog. But what you come here for is to drink right? Menu below:
As you can see, there are plenty of great canned beers to choose from:
This seems to be a great addition to the neighborhood. I can’t wait to come and check out the train car space when it’s completed!

Hopefully this is the start of more interesting bars/restaurants/nightlife in Shaw on 7th and 9th, from NY Ave up to U. These areas have the potential of becoming every bit as exciting as H St. NE.
