Sutra has taken over the old spaces at Felix and Spy Lounge into a new restaurant, lounge and wine bar in Adams Morgan. Standing at three stories high and occupying 9,000 square footage, the new venue will offer patrons a Contemporary American and Asian inspired menu at Savour (the restaurant and wine bar) as well as a lounge and bar atmosphere at Sutra.

The renovated space was apparent throughout our visit to Sutra, as the old infrastructure inside was completely gutted out with new bars, restrooms and furniture with a ravishing interior design.

The owners hope to bring a new experience to the neighborhood by operating seven days a week to feature an extensive wine list, full menu, two dance floors with two different DJ booths. ReadysetDC has also learned that 25-35 specialty wines will be selected to pair with the entrees served at Savour. The menu is currently being tweaked at the moment to prepare for Sutra’s grand opening on New Year’s Eve.  Reservations will be available on OpenTable.com. 

They are currently open for business, starting at 5:30 PM every day. During the weekend, Sutra will operate until 3 AM with resident DJs, Tom Lim and Stereo Faith, who have entertained crowds at various events and parties throughout the city.

Along with other businesses located on the main strip of 18th Street, Sutra will hopefully restore the neighborhood as a safer destination for food, drinks and entertainment. It’s certainly refreshing to have options in this neighborhood with new establishments like Sutra.
