“Hamiltonian Gallery and Fever Couture are proud to host Art of the Soul (www.artofthesouldc.info), an exhibition on the unspoken thoughts and feelings of women. Art of the Soul uses its platform to promote peace, empowerment, and justice, with a specific focus on DC residence ages 16 and older. In partnership with national organizations, local partners (Bus Boys and Poets, Commission for Women, etc.) and 20 local and nationally recognized artists, this 18 day exhibition will explore the prevalence of female injustice within our communities. Art of the Soul will run from February 12th – March 1, 2010 and take place in the up-and-coming NOMA neighborhood at 486 K Street, NW.

Art of the Soul is a multi-sensory depiction of the voices of women that are often unheard. Our collaborative event will strive to facilitate communal dialogue surrounding female related issues and explore ways to empowerment and understanding, both collectively and individually. The show will highlight and discuss the topics of self-esteem, judgment, sexism, AIDS, beauty, domestic violence, FGM (female genital mutilation), and many other issues affecting women today.”
