Date Nights DC

Destination DC, the city’s official tourism agency, has recently launched a new promotion called “Date Nights DC: A 28 Day Stimulus Plan for Love & Relationships“. As February as the slowest month in DC tourism, “Date Nights DC” will promote the city’s culture and dining scene. The agency hopes to increase foot traffic in Washington during a month considered as the slowest month in the city’s tourism.

Date Nights DC” has also selected an official spokesperson (or “Secretary”) of the new agency, sex and relationship expert, Dr. Ruth Westheimer. The promotion will take place throughout February. The stimulus plan includes exclusive packages with deals and discounts on hotels, restaurants, attractions offered in February (from the press release):

  • Create-a-Date: A searchable database of more than 80 creative date
    ideas to help locals and visitors plan outings with their girlfriends,
    boyfriends, families, just the girls and just the guys. Organized by
    theme and neighborhoods, date planners will find LGBT-centered dates,
    movie-themed dates and itineraries for politics buffs, movie fans,
    food and wine lovers and more.
  • Date Concierge: An option to call or email the “Date Concierge” who
    will book each element of your desired date, from hotel room to dinner
    reservations to car service at no additional cost, through a
    partnership with the Washington Area Concierge Association. The Date
    Concierge can be reached by calling 1-877-DATE-879 or by emailing
    dateconcierge@datenightsdc.org.
  • Postings & Rankings: A place where couples who met, courted and
    married in DC to share videos chronicling their relationships. The
    site also includes a listing of 28 top romantic spots, one for each
    day of the 28-day promotion.
  • Date Night Deals: More than 50 special events and offers from hotels,
    restaurants, tours and attractions for “date-friendly” experiences.
  • The Hook-up: A platform for information about events, promotions and
    happenings.
