fashion:district // Full Details and Tickets (UPDATED)
Reported by JustinUPDATE: The Runway tickets sold out in 10 hours! However, we still have a number non-runway tickets for sale, where you still get access to the fashion photography exhibit, art installations, pop-up shops, great music and OPEN BAR! Get them here, before they sell out too!
THE LOCATION
fashion:district will take place on Wednesday, April 7th at View 14, a new, luxury apartment building at 14th Street & Florida Ave NW.
Doors will open at 6PM. We will be activating the rooftop (with breathtaking views), 3 penthouse apartments and the lobby level courtyard.
View 14 is four short blocks from the U Street Metro.

THE SHOW
The runway show will take place on the rooftop and start at 8PM sharp. What you need for spring will be presented by Commonwealth, Derringer Friday, DURKL, Redeem, Treasury and Universal Gear. See ticket info below.
THE SHOPS
Two of the 3 penthouse level apartments will contain pop-up shops. Bored of Trade, Derringer Friday, DURKL, Redeem, Treasury and Universal Gear will have all of the fashion and inspiration you will need for Spring. Worn Magazine will also have a surprise for attendees!
THE ART
The fashion photography of DC-based photographers Joshua Yospyn, Nicole Aguirre (of Worn Magazine) and Jodi King will be exhibited.
Hamiltonian artist Bryan Rojsuontikul will showcase art installations, including the actual rooftop runway itself (!). No Kings Collective will also showcase fashion themed works.
THE DRINKS
Complimentary drinks will be provided at various bars thanks to Pabst Blue Ribbon, Firefly Vodka, [yellowtail] and HobNob. There will be plenty at various bars throughout the space. Please note that the entire event is 21 and up only.
THE MUSIC
DJ Boris Gluck will be spinning on the View 14 rooftop, handling the sounds for the runway show as well as before and after.
DJ Sean Peoples (Sockets Records/FATBACK) will keep the party going in the beautiful lobby level courtyard (with a sculpture garden!).
THE TICKETS
Due to limited space, there will only be 100 tickets available for the rooftop runway show, $14 each. Get them here! The slightly cheaper tickets ($9) get you access to the fashion photography exhibit, art installations, pop-up shops, great music and all the alcohol (OPEN BAR!), just not the rooftop while the runway show is live. You can also get them here.
THE AFTER-PARTY
We have to close up shop early at 10PM (residential building!). After the event, you are invited to stumble down 14th Street to Marvin for the official after-hours social.

Comments & Trackbacks
So, at this event, will there be another sign on the door stating that by entering I give permission to be photographed and/or videographed? That’s something you might want to let people know ahead of time. Just saying.

Evie:
That sign was posted at Activation 2719 because VIMBY was filming. That should not be the case this time, however there will be at least one HD video camera and probably at least a dozen professional photographers.
The goal here is to showcase great events/artists/music/etc. that make DC a more interesting place to live. That is done by covering such events/artists/music/etc. with words, photos and video.
