Get Your Improv On w/ Shawn Westfall
I love how DC seems to be a population always searching for the newest and best ideas.
Yes, Washington does have its cast of characters but isn’t necessarily thought of as a comedic mecca. ReadysetDC went back to school, well improv school anyway and flexed our acting chops with DC Improv instructor Shawn Westfall. (more…)

Words w/ Nathan Golon & Jordan Gantz [Filmmakers: DC Snow Storm]
Reminders of snomaggeden, snopocalypse, snOMG or whatever you want to call it are still around us. Once white and puffy snow banks are now blocks of ice coated with charcoal grey clogging city streets. Residents have marked their parking spots with garbage cans, chairs, cones or whatever they can find to signal, “hey I shoveled [...]

In an Art In The Everyday first we’re showcasing multiple images. This triptych by laurarotondo makes winter somewhat beautiful. Of course, this is before the snow turns into a brown slushy stew or piles high on sidewalks and city streets making walking and chewing gum at the same time impossible.

oh snap: DC Record Fair @ Black Cat
Over 1,400 beat miners, DJ’s and vinyl connoisseurs gathered at the Black Cat this weekend for the 4th DC Record Fair. DJ’s spun records (of course) while folks fingers danced across crates looking for that rare find. The DC Record Fair was brought to you by Som Records, DC Soul Recordings, and of course the The Vinyl District.
oh snap: Dilla Day @ Stussy
James Dewitt Yancey aka J. Dilla was and still is a seminal force in music, not just hip-hop. Attending college at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in the mid-1990’s (I know I’m aging myself here) it was hard not to know who J. Dilla was, especially for the real hip-hop heads and the campus only 30 minutes from Dilla’s hometown of Detroit. Hip-hop today is a shell of it’s former self lacking the real talent, production and most importantly soul of the music that I loved in the mid-90’s.

Flickr contributor mofo loves winter. I bet I could find a lot of people that hate it.
