Words w/ Twee [Live Twee or Die]
You may have noticed the brass knuckles, sunflowers, and rain cloud wheat pastes that have sprung up along 14th and other parts of the District. After a couple of days of hunting down the artist, I finally got a phone number. The phone which I’m sure was a TRAC phone a la The Wire, just rang and rang. Finally I was able to leave a message. My call wasn’t returned until three days later. He answered, “who are you and why should I talk to you…” Not wanting to meet in person, I had to settle for a phone interview. D.C. meet Twee.
Tracy: Where the hell did you come from?
Twee: I grew up on the streets of Halifax, Nova Scotia. I recently arrived here, so you’ll be seeing a lot more of my mark. D.C is about to get TWEEd. (more…)

Michael purchased his first “real” camera about a year ago, but it seems he’s been photographing the D.C. streets forever. Michael put his camera down just for awhile to chat with us about his favorite photographers, his love for film and this great city.
There are a lot of people who are locally engaged and are [...]
